Livingston Manufacturing Company was founded in March, 1966, by two brothers, Clifton and Freeman Thompson. In the early years the Company went by the name of Thompson Upholstering and the partnership grew steadily. In 1970, the operation moved to a new location and the name was changed to Livingston Furniture Manufacturing. In 1971, the Company’s organizational business status was converted to a corporation with the founders being the sole stockholders. In 1979, the plant size was increased again, along with the addition of a new office complex. In April, 2007, Livingston Furniture Manufacturing was acquired by Fixtur-World, Inc. and relocated to Cookeville, TN. In 2015, Fixtur-World relocated all of it’s business to Baxter, TN.
The Company’s steady growth is a direct result of the continuing commitment to build high quality upholstered furniture. Presently, about 75 highly skilled & experienced employees, along with 20 professional sales representatives support dealers throughout the United States and several countries.
